Moral stories can shape a child’s personality: Dr. Mridula Sinha

Six years old Chaitanya’s first book released


New Delhi.In this digital era and ‘virtual’ generation, can you imagine that a six years old girl can write stories with full of imagination and in a proper literary style of writing? Chaitanya Chandok is that miraculous girl. She proved that if you have spark, you have support and encouragement and of course if you have writing skills too, you can be emerged in a special way. Little Chaitanya is now the writer of “The Secret of Blue Diamond”.  In a grand function of her book release in Constitution Club, New Delhi, everyone was surprised to see the packed big auditorium.

On this occasion Governor of Goa, eminent writer and the chief guest Smt. Mridula Sinha expressed her concern about the dying tradition of story-telling in our families. She shared her experience that how she was used to tell different stories to the new generation and how it effects deeply to enrich our tradition and keeping moral values. She appreciated Chaitanya’s effort and also her parents Smt. Aakansha Chandok and Sh. Navnet Chandok and specially her grandparents Mrs. and Mr. S.K. Verma for encouraging Chaitanya in her endeavour to write a book at such a tender age.

Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak spoke at length about the story and the author Chaitanya Chandok’s painstakng efforts to write the book and how the absorbing tale has come out remarkably with illustrations by Chaitanya. He quoted the phrase “CHILD IS THE FATHER OF MAN” that appeared in a poem, “My Heart Leaps Up” by Wordsworth in 1802. He said that the phrase means that the conduct of a child indicates what he will become when he grows up.

Sh. Upendra Kumar, eminent poet and writer welcomed all the guests present and threw light upon the contents and richness of the book. He said, “It is a unique book. I never thought that a small girl like Chaitanya Chandok to write such a nice book that has not only the story but she has decorated it with colourful sketches keeping in view the theme.

Ms Chaitanya expressed her thankfulness and said, “I am in the seventh heaven as my book has been released today. It took two years to publish and two more years for release and I am grateful to all and specially Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak for supporting and give such a big audience for releasing my book.

The story of the book is full of suspense and entertainment and tells about the quest of two young intelligent girls to find the Blue Diamond which is on top of a mountain. It describes the grit and determination of the girls to find the diamond and keep it safe. The story encourages children to be adventurous.

The entire function was organized by Sulabh International Social Service Organisation. The function was presided over by Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, Founder, Sulabh Sanitation and Social Reform Movement with the presence of Kathak Guru Padmashri Shovana Narayan, Dr. Shakeeluzzama Ansari, Member, National Commission for Backward Classes, Retd Justice Sh. V.N. Mohta, Retd Justice Sh. M.L. Verma, Retd Justice Sh. S.K. Katrias, Brig Hamid from Bangladesh and Padamshri Raveendra Rajhans as “Guests of Honour” on the occasion.
