As part of its ongoing effort to discover, nurture, promote and propagate quality art in India, the Lalit Kala Akademi has organized a week long National Tribal and North East Conclave from 28th March, 2017 till 4th April, 2017 at the Lalit Kala Akademi, Rabindra Bhavan Lawns, 35 Ferozshah Road, New Delhi. There was a gala Folk performance of Rajasthan to kick start the Conclave in the right mood. The participating artists will be creating their genres of art and will also speak and interact with visitors and others, on all days of the event, from 11am to 5:00 pm.

The name is inspired by a diwankhaana - a cluster of small rooms for a private lavani performance. This approach to the Lavani originated in the 13th century, and was characterised by women sporting a six-yard sari as opposed to the traditional Maharashtrian nine-yard style.
